HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone.

The children have come back ready to learn after their holidays.  We have heard what wonderful things they got up to over the break.

This weeks blog will fill you in on what we will be learning about this half term.  The creative curriculum theme has changed to “Circle of Life”.  We will be trying to link this, where possible, into the work that we do in different subjects.  We will be learning:

  • Literacy – we will be using the story “Seeds of Change” to develop our reading skills
  • Numeracy – we are learning about money
  • Science – Our focus is on materials and we will be learning about different materials and how to describe them
  • Geography – We will be learning about mountains
  • Computing – We will be looking at hardware and processing.  For this we will learn about using different devices for different purposes
  • RE – We are still looking at life as a journey but this half term we will be learning about Islam
  • Art – Our artist of focus is Alexander Calder.  We will be learning how to create sculptures using metal.

On top of all this learning we will continue to have weekly PE, Swimming and music sessions where we will continue to learn in these areas.

We hope you have a wonderful weekend.
